Rotisserie Chicken Goes Organic

rotisserie chicken recipe

Rotisserie chickens are a huge time-saver when it comes to making easy, healthy meals.  But regular grocery store rotisserie chickens have always grossed me out a little because I know they’re factory farmed, and chicken is one of those things I always try to buy organic (see why here).  That’s why I am happy to announce that Whole Foods is now offering organic, free-range rotisserie chickens in their deli, and for only $9.99!  They also have cage-free regular rotisserie chickens for just $7.99, if you’re on a tight budget.  Whichever you choose, you can rest assured that your quick and easy meals are now being humanely raised.

If you don’t live near a Whole Foods, encourage your local grocery store to start offering organic free-range rotisserie chickens.  Sometimes all it takes is a few customers asking to make something in a grocery store change for the better.

Need some rotisserie chicken meal ideas? Try these:

  1. Chicken Apricot Pizza with Fresh Basil and Red Onion.  Make it even better my caramelizing the onions.
  2. Super Fast Burrito Bowl.  With a rotisserie chicken, this takes no time at all.
  3. Southwest Stuffed Peppers.  You can also easily turn these into Greek Stuffed Peppers.
