Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays, for one main reason: I. Love. Candy.
Hunting for candy-filled eggs and eating their contents throughout Easter Sunday has long been a tradition in my family, and is one that I hope to continue (for selfish reasons 😉 ).
But the more I learn about what conventional candy is made of, the less my old favorites appeal to me. Reading ingredients lists on packages in the Easter candy aisle is actually kind of scary, since essentially none of the ingredients are recognizable or even remotely “real.”
Luckily, there now exists a variety of incredibly delicious candies that also happen to be organic and natural.
Below are a few of my favorites. All would be perfect additions to your natural – yet still sugar-filled – Easter basket!
Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups
These are so ridiculous. They come in dark & milk chocolate, and in regular size & mini.
They taste like real chocolate and real peanut butter, because they are!
Lovely Candy Company
Lovely’s Superfruit Chews (taste like Starbursts only better), Fudgee Rolls (taste like Tootsie Rolls only better and more chocolatey), and Caramels, are some of the best chewy candies I’ve ever had. They also make chocolate caramels and raspberry Fudgee Rolls. All are amazing.
If I opened up an Easter egg with any of these, I’d be in heaven!
YumEarth Sour Beans
Easter just wouldn’t be Easter without jelly beans.
My favorites are YumEarth’s sour beans, and Trader Joe’s jelly beans. Both are super tasty and naturally flavored & colored.
If you upgrade your candy this year, you may also want to shift your basket accessories to be more eco-friendly, like using recycled paper grass instead of the plastic clingy stuff:
Or check out some of my friend Sara’s greener Easter basket ideas.
Happy Egg Hunting!
Note: This is not a sponsored post. Justin’s and Lovely sent me samples when IÂ requested but I’m sharing these brands with you just because I love them so much!Â
