I’m plenty satisfied with popcorn and movie candy on Oscar night, but if you’re hosting an Oscar party, you’ll need to offer guests something more substantial.
Here are some easy and delicious foods to serve as you all watch the show.
Winter Veggie Tartines (aka open-faced sandwiches) from Out of the Box Food.
Bran Appetit’s Chicken Enchilada Dip. (I made this for Super Bowl – subbed a can of refried beans for the soup because that’s all I had – it was devoured in minutes).
Tomato and Cheese Pastries with Fresh Oregano.
Avocado and Roasted Garlic Dip. A nice change of pace from regular old guacamole.
SkinnyTaste’s Veggie Shooters. A much prettier way to serve veggies with dip.
Tuscan Mashed Chickpeas from Two Blue Lemons/Ina Garten.
Healthier Spinach Artichoke Dip. You just can’t go wrong with Spinach Artichoke Dip – everyone loves it.
Kath’s Leftover Chili Nachos. If you don’t have leftover chili on-hand you could use a store-bought chili or even baked beans (which I’ve done in a pinch and it’s just as wonderful).
And for something sweet…
Two Peas and Their Pod’s Chocolate Coconut Chex Mix.
Cookie’s and Cups’ Popcorn Cake. I featured this last year too…it just seems too perfect not to mention again.
Thanks to all the fabulous bloggers who created and shared these recipes!

February 22, 2013 at 4:22 pmI can’t wait to try a few of these Sunday! I like the idea of a few crostini-type apps…oooh! Maybe a make-your-own crostini bar. Hmmm…
