School is out, the weather is warm, and it’s time for a vacation!
Whether you’re traveling this summer by plane, train or automobile, you’ll need some healthy packaged snacks to fuel you on the trip.
Below are some of my favorite healthy snacks for traveling, all of which will please kids and adults alike.
Happy trails!
Late July Snack Chips
My favorites are Mild Green Mojo and Dude Ranch – both perfect paired with cheese.
Organic Valley Stringles
A tasty change from regular string cheese, and thanks to pasture-raised cows these have optimal nutritional value!
Grape Tomatoes
It can be hard to get veggies on the road, but ripe little tomatoes (in a hard container to protect them) are perfect for travel.
Cruncha Ma-me
Simply freeze-dried edamame in the yummiest flavors.
Trail Mix
With so many amazing options available now, it’s easy to find a mix with your family’s favorite flavors.
Organic Valley Milk Protein Shakes
I don’t drink this type of thing at home, but on the road these are a super delicious source of protein & calcium.
Cherries
Not all fruit travels well, but cherries are perfect for on-the-go munching.
Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups
OK, these aren’t healthy. But when you need a sweet indulgence, you can rest assured since these are organic and free of junky ingredients.
Popcorn
Pop it yourself before leaving home for the healthiest option; or look for packaged popcorn with a short ingredient list.
Stonyfield Yogurt Pouches
Freeze them before you leave so they last (4 hours) throughout the trip.
Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies
Lucy has loved these since she could chew – and to be honest, I love them too. Great alternative to conventional Goldfish.
Nuts
Can’t go wrong with nuts. Pack your favorite kind or make these honey coconut roasted almonds before you go.
